Humility pays

When a music lose its melody, it becomes a noise, no matter how loud it may sound.

When a food lose its taste, it does not gratify hunger, no matter how much of it is consumed.

When a man lose his moral value, his personality becomes unimportant and insignificant no matter how flamboyant he appears.

Show me a man who gallivants around shoulder-up and I will tell you the story of how Pride comes before destruction.

Be humble always; it is a good moral standard for a man to live by.

The morning was depressed and the gloomy sky was about to shed some tears. The trees from both sides of the road waver in agony, shedding their leaves like never before, while the road got filled up by them. Life and death have an essence to their long existence amidst the human race. The duo may be advantageous to some people, and it may be the converse to others. With little or no control over either and while the choir sings the regular “We shall meet by the river’s side...”, I stared at the brown wooden coffin being lowered into the perfectly dug six-foot rectangular grave while the fountain of tears from her eyes and several bereaved relatives flowed uncontrollably. “Dust for dust, ashes for ashes...” the priest read on from his hand book while receiving response from quivering voice of all mourners. At that point, it was time to give the last respect to the dead by pouring a handful of sand onto the grounded coffin. “Whoever killed my husband will never go unpunished...they have broken my front tooth... they have burnt me with the fire of life...,” Her voice echoed as she paid her last respect, while she struggled to follow him into the grave, but she was securely held by one...
